A selection of photos from Dublin.
Dublin has lots and lots of beautiful clocks on building facades. As I discovered when my watch stopped, though, they're almost all wrong or not ticking! On my first day's walk, I figured out what time it was by waiting for a store to open that had the hours posted. I'll try to snap some photos of them next time.
Woman jaywalks with dog in Dublin - and the bus stops for her. No profanities were to be heard. It's just normal. Note the speed bump ("ramp") at the entrance to the side street. Stay on the arterial!
Look at the blue signs. The bike lane ends and then starts across the street. Strange. Guess they're telling bicyclists that they need to stop. Look at the big dip for the driveway! Yikes!
Wayfinding in Dublin. See the ped-oriented ones! I noticed one in Paris that was for cars, it pointed the opposite direction of the shortest walking route. It needed a little car icon to tell peds to ignore it.
Form over function in Dublin. Boy, these garbage and recycling cans are fancy! And wa~ay too small.
