Karaoke

Recently there's been an explosion in Mad Capsule Markets' songs available at karaoke boxes around Japan. In 1996, all that could be found was one chain with Eject->Out. Check out the list of songs below to see what's out there and where you can find them. Maybe I'll create timed lyrics for them some day, but for now you can follow the links to see the English or Japanese lyrics.

Key: Joy is my abbreviation for a group of services by Xing: {s} indicates the song is available at JoySound, their yuusen, aka network, karaoke; {h} indicates it is available at HyperJoy (their box chain); {k} means that the song can be requested through KaraOK!, a joint service between Xing and Sonet (Sony ISP in Japan), which allows users to sing over the internet. Dam is a group of services from Daiichikosho, including the box Big Echo, and karaoke@Dam, an internet singing service; Dam also sells a line of units for home use. I believe their song catalog is the same between each. Sega has a karaoke chain in Japan, as well as network karaoke and internet and Dreamcast karaoke. Again, I believe the catalogs are the same. The number after each chain is the number for that song.. save time by running into the room and entering the number - don't bother flipping through the catalog!
